We love being with our friends and family, going camping, fishing, hiking, anything outdoors. We are looking forward to watching our beautiful girls grow up and making lots of memories.

Long Time No See

WOW!!  Its been a really long time since I have been on here.  I look at other blogs all the time and then just never get around to updating my own.  Well of course a lot has happened since I last posted.  The biggest thing being that we had a new addition to our family.  Makinlee Kaye was born on August 4th, 2011.  She was 6lbs. 6oz. and 18 inches long.  I had to have an emergency c-section with Preslee and I really didn't want to do that again so I tried for a VBAC(vaginal birth after cesarean).  I started having contractions that were about 7 minutes apart on the 3rd at 5:30 PM.  I decided that I didn't want to just sit around and wait for them to get stronger so I went to scouts.  I didn't know it but they were doing a scavenger hunt walking around the whole neighborhood.  I thought that was great because it would help my labor along.  When I got home the contractions were 4 minutes apart.  I got in the shower because I had been outside and stunk and wanted to look less hideous with this labor than I did with Preslee.  In the shower I noticed a little trickle of fluid coming out so we hurried to get ready and got in the car to head to the hospital.  About a block from the house my water totally broke in the car all over the cloth seats.  That is the weirdest feeling on earth!  So gross!  When we got checked in my contractions were a minute apart and I was in a ton of pain.  But when they checked me I was only 1cm dilated.  Uggg!!  They let me get an epidural though so that was amazing.  I don't know how people do it naturally.  Definitely not for me.  Makinlee's heart rate kept dropping during the night so they kept telling me that I may have to have another c-section.  They just kept a close eye on her and by 9:15 AM I was ready to push.  It only took 45 minutes and she was out.  I felt sooooo much better than with the c-section.  It was a world of difference.  Unfortunately I had two third degree tears which were pretty uncomfortable but still didn't even compare to the pain of a major abdominal surgery.  I highly recommend the VBAC!!

Preslee is a good big sister. She REALLY loves her baby sis. A little too much. She gets a little jealous sometimes but we really try to give her a lot of attention and extra love and include her in everything that we do.

Makinlee is a really mellow baby.  She only wakes up twice a night which is way better than Preslee who was every two hours on the dot.  Preslee isn't potty trained yet so we go through a ton of diapers.  Sometimes I feel like that's all I do, change diapers and clean up messes.  Being a stay at home mommy is by far the hardest job I have ever had.  Its well worth it though.  I couldn't have made it without the help of my family and Nick's family.  We are so blessed.  They all live close and are so willing to help any way they can.  I love them all so much.

Preslee's Easter pics

I know it has been WAY too long since I have been on here. I just wanted to post Preslee's precious Easter pics. She is at such a fun age. She wants see and touch everything. She has such a sweet personality. She laughs and smiles so easily. She was so funny when we got these taken. She laughed, cried, smiled, frowned. She was even hitting the bunny like she wanted to kill it. I thought it might bite her. Anyways I am so blessed to have this amazing baby. I dont know what I did to deserve her but I am so happy that she is mine.

Baby Preslee is finally here!!

I realize that it has been forever since I have posted on here and I apologize for my laziness. My beautiful daughter Preslee Nicole Snow was born Tuesday September 1st at 7:42AM at St. Marks hospital. She was 6lbs. 14oz. and 20 inches long. I started having contractions on Monday night at 11:30 that were 5 minutes apart. I called the hospital after an hour of that and the nurse said to stay home until they were 3 minutes apart. My contractions hurt like heck of course but there was no way that I was going to go to the hospital and get sent home. Around 3AM Nick suggested that we go for a walk so up and down the street we went for a while until the contractions came 3 min apart. At around 5:30AM I decided that I needed an epidural ASAP so we got ready(we hadn't packed anything yet) and went to the hospital. When we got there I was 4cm dilated so I got my epidural. I was feeling pretty good until my heart rate started to drop and I almost passed out a few times. My amazing Dr. Clayton Wilde got there at about 7AM which is not normal. Usually Dr.'s don't come until the patient is ready to push. He had been there about 10 minutes when he said that he was going to break my water and put a monitor on the babies head. When he broke my water all i heard was, "Oh shit!". That isn't really what you want to hear at that moment. He took his hand out and it was full of blood and clots.(Its supposed to be clear) He started yelling to get the OR ready and someone put oxygen on my face. Of course they were all too busy yelling and running around to tell me or Nick what the heck was going on so I start bawling like crazy. Nick was so great. He looked scared but he just kept telling me that it was going to be ok. Later he said that he had never been so scared in his whole life. He was right by my side while the Dr. did his thing and I puked my guts out. So the next thing I know I hear someone say what a cute baby she is. I didn't feel a thing and didn't know that they had even started the surgery yet. The baby was a little lethargic at first but she got better quickly. Afterwards the Dr. told me that Preslee's heart rate had gone from 120 to 50 and that my placenta had torn away from my uterus and that if she would have been in there another 30 min that she would have died. She truly is our miracle baby. We are so blessed that the Dr. was there when he was and acted so quickly to save her life. Nick is an amazing dad. He changes diapers, feeds her, baths her. He does it all. I am so blessed to have him as my husband and I love him so much. We are both home now and doing good. Here are some pics of my little sweetie. Thanks to everyone who called and visited and brought food and all that good stuff. It has been greatly appreciated.

Oh Baby!!

Well most of you probably know by now but MY EGG-O IS PREGGO!!! Its true. I can't believe it myself most of the time. I am 11 weeks today. I have been wanting to post this since week 4 but Nick had to restrain me. It has been a long time coming. We have had 2 previous miscarriages so we decided to wait a little bit to post it. I must say that I have been feeling pretty crappy but I just keep telling myself that it is well worth it and I would go through anything for this little miracle. Nick and I honestly don't care if it's a boy or a girl. I see a cute little boy and I really want a boy. Then I see all of the cute girl clothes and hair stuff and I really want a girl. Nick says it might be better if we have a boy because he wont be able to ever say no to a little girl and she would be the most spoiled little monster ever. I think that we would spend way more money on a girl but it would be so fun too. Whatever God wants us to have we will be forever greatful for. I went to my first doctor's appointment last week and we were able to have an ultrasound. It was amazing! We saw the little head and arms and legs. We got to see and hear the heartbeat and the little peanut even kicked a little. This is getting a little long so I will leave it at that. I will keep you all posted though.
